She scanned the crowded bar, looking for a victim. Not her victim, mind you. She wanted to find someone a predator couldn’t resist. A very specific predator. She knew precisely who she was seeking and what the perfect bait would be.
Valeria was hunting alone this evening. She knew she should have waited for Roman. It would be safer, and he wouldn’t be happy when he found out later.
However, a solo kill was such an intoxicating experience. It reminded her of her youth, so very long ago. Long before she had matured, found her eternity partner, and settled down. She shook her head and refocused on the people around her.
Mmmm, there she was. She was sitting alone at the bar, sipping a pretty drink. Her beautiful face was tinged with sadness and a hint of desperation. So irresistible and, unfortunately, malleable. She was the kind of young woman who was easily taken advantage of… and worse.
She would be a sweet lure for the man Valeria would kill tonight. If he followed his weekly routine, he should arrive any minute now.

He had once been a handsome young man, but wealth and gluttony had packed on the pounds he managed to camouflage under an expensive suit and overcoat. But he couldn’t hide the weight in his florid face. It was a greedy face fond of expensive wines and scotch. An arrogant face that subtly broadcasted an expectation of demands met, no matter how twisted or extreme.
As Valeria had predicted, the man quickly scented his lovely prey at the bar. He stopped scanning the room, locked his eyes on the target, and strode confidently toward the bar. She had anticipated this, so she was already on her feet and ready to intercept.
Quickly crossing the dark room, she slid into the open space at the bar between the sad young woman and the predatory man. A flash of irritation crossed his face before he noticed Valeria’s beauty. His eyes widened with renewed pleasure.
“Well, hello there. What’s a gorgeous creature like you doing in a dive bar like this?”
Valeria gave him a shy smile. “Waiting for a handsome devil like you to buy me a drink.”
He smirked and snapped his fingers at the bartender, who rolled his eyes and slowly approached them. “Yes? What can I get you?”
She placed her hand on the man’s arm, knowing it would send his libido into overdrive. He glanced over at her, and she shook her head.
With a knowing smile, she said, “You know what, I have a better idea. How about we have a drink at my place instead? This place is too crowded and noisy for my liking.”
His pupils dilated, and she heard his heartbeat accelerate. Valeria sensed the blood rushing to his swelling cock. He shifted and adjusted his pants before answering.
“Well, now, I like the way you think. Is your place far from here?”
She tilted her head in the direction of the entrance. “No, not far. We can take an Uber together.”
She turned away from the bar to walk toward the door, knowing he was watching her magnificent ass in her black leather pants. Most of the men in the room were watching her exit, and many of their dates were visibly irritated. Valeria was used to these reactions. She had spent her life using her striking appearance to her advantage, but sometimes, she wished she could blend in and disappear.
